PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

August 13, 2018

The 2018-2019 school year is fast approaching. The staff and I are looking forward to another productive school year. Teachers are putting finishing touches on learning spaces, secretaries are registering new students, custodians are delivering materials, and Mrs. Lipman and I are working on finalizing schedules and class lists.

The school offices are now open from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. each weekday.  Mrs. Davis and Mrs. DelGrosso are happy to assist with registration and answer questions.

Of special note is a slight change to the start and end times for elementary students. Students in K-6 may not arrive at school before 8:20 A.M. The instructional day will run from 8:40 A.M. to 3:10 P.M. Students will be considered tardy if they arrive after 8:40 A.M. and must be signed-in at the office by an adult. Aug. 22 - Class lists posted near school entrances at 10:00 A.M.

Aug. 24 - Back to School Bash sponsored by LEAF, 4:00 P.M. at the Ledyard Fairgrounds

Aug. 28 - Meet and Greet Events

  Kindergarten

Goodrich and Armstrong: 1:30-2:00 P.M. with short bus ride at 2:00 P.M. McKelvey and Heaney: 2:00-2:30 P.M. with short bus ride at 2:30 P.M.

  First Grade - 9:30-10:00 A.M.

  Second Grade - 1:00-2:00 P.M.

  Third - Sixth Grades - 2:30-3:00 P.M. (Drop-In)

Aug. 28 - Back to School Potluck sponsored by PTO, 5:00-7:00 P.M. on the GFS playground

Aug. 30 - First Day of School

Bus information will be posted on the district website at www.ledyard.net about a week before school starts. It is always a good idea to check the district site the night before school and be at the bus stop a few minutes early.
